Daihatsu Charade G11 (1984)

I have a Daihatsu Charade G11 (1984). The car is in excellent condition. Fuel consumption is low. But, road tax & insurance now are now about RM400.00 or more and I am not given much choice.

Maintenance in a year including repair is more than RM1000.00. Not only I'm not qualified for a rebate but also the cost is getting higher. I do not wish to be in a rat race by purchasing a new car. I hope the government will look seriously into this matter (referring to the last budget) I'm not the only case. Please let us use our old car - mine is not a vintage. It defeats the purpose of having an economical car when I have to pay higher.

The day before I was thinking to publish the image of my car, I witnessed about 3 car crashed. It involved three national cars. Two of them were mired plunged into the drain while the other one hit a motorcycle on the way to work. Although the cars look good and great, but in most cases some have contributed to road accidents.

Next: I wish to share
ways of how to keep old cars, how to buy and manage budgets on car parts.

Karamel Cake

After almost 20 years, I have managed to bake one of my favourite dessert and pastry, a caramel cake.

It was during Christmas, when everyone was busying making dessert for the festival, I was too excited to try the recipe after watching the TLC and AFC cooking program in Astro. There was a story behind this lovely and delicious delicacy.

It started about twenty years ago when I first saw the cake during my wedding. The cake became one of the 'hantaran' or dowry from my groom. It was baked by my sister in law. She also baked a fondant cheece cake.

Later, after the ceremony, my husband and I had a chance to taste the caramel cake. My mother, my sisters and aunts were enjoying the cake. We were talking about the cake for the whole week. It was in the mid 80's. The caramel and the fondant cake were rarely found in the market, especially here in Malaysia. I keep thinking about how creative my sister and my mother in law were. During those days,we thought of having difficulties in making an 'exclusive, and royalty type cakes like the caramel and fondant cakes. Not many cake lovers could bake.

All the thoughts and memories have been revealed when one day I was surprised to see the caramel cake in the cooking program in tv. I told my husband how I extremely wish to bake the cake one day.

Finally, a caramel cake with 5cm height was managed to be cooked. I purposely heat the sugar and the water longer to get the bitter taste of the caramel. Despite of not having lemon skins added in the mixture, I used some honey sauce instead.

(I gave the first slice to my hubby who has not tasted the caramel cake for the last 24 years - imagine how happy he is)

'Al Fatihah to my late mother in law. Thank you for your support and encouragement in the world of cooking. She was indeed the MASTER CHEF during her time'.....

Fast Growing and Social Responsibility

As I drive my second hand car, manually geared and move with 1000cc, admiring the beautiful greenery environment along the Kesas Highway from sending my son to the college, suddenly distracted by gigantic and luxurious so called imported vehicles. They appeared closely behind and looking either brutal or ferociously. I sensed my car is moving as slow as a turtle. That’s what people thought of the old car. My car and I seemed nuisance whilst having them lost their speed and turn. Who cares to know that during those day in the early 80’s, the Daihatsu Charade made by the Japanese was among the hero’s on the road. However, today, most youngster, men and women just look at it at 'one eye' and give a blink at most old cars. They even under estimated its power and capacity.

After using the car for almost 2 years with upgraded maintenance and speed, this car is still on the road. But will people realize his potential by just looking externally? Hundreds of ringgit have been spent and have it serviced once in 3 months just to get my car fit to be driven. But do people see beyond that? Can people read between the line that one should have a lot of money to own an old car? Either the manufacturer or the users should have the tendency to educate themselves with the fast growing technology. It will not reach the common sense of ethics if there are still people who have a great deal of living requirements.

Currently Road Bully is common phenomena to the road users. The passion to drive fast is always a necessity to most drivers. Having lots of fuel in tank, driving a luxurious car and late for work or classes caused these drivers to over take and tail the front car. I was once witnessed for quite number of accidents. Cars which are produced locally often hit and rammed into one and another. They contribute the largest quantity of cars involved in the accident. They drove like a helicopter pilot after deployed but amusingly, stopped at the traffic light. On the same day, I pretended asking my sons, why are they stopping? They should be able to ram the lights if they are truly a hero or claim themselves as road bully.

Unlike in the western and the European countries, the Malaysian should be aware and truly understand the systems. Many of us do not concern of having sign boards hiding behind trees, roads with cracks and gaps after rain and ignoring the usage of signals even driving in the kampung area and schools. This is only a peak of an iceberg. However, it will cause lots of fund wastage and even fatality. Only after statistics are 'on line' or increase rapidly, everyone starts blaming each other and look for solutions. To my opinion, is it or it is too late?

Desperate Teenagers

Gambar Hiasan

It was a week before Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Whilst, most of my friends and relatives were packing and doing last minute of shopping, I had to work on a proposal for my company. Being a self-employed woman, running up and down the office, creating my own time always remain as my footnote. Why should I wait? I feed and pay myself and that is the role of being a director of a company . I must not wait for instructions.

However, no one can predict destiny. In business, we tend to make a long term prediction and assumption. However, God has yet to overrule all those principles. An incident which I would never forget has happened to me during the last ten days of Ramadhan. It occurred in just split seconds. After breaking fast, I decided to surf online through the internet at one cybercafe near my place. As I walked in, I realized not many customers were there. There were only three people including me. I wondered and questioned myself. Where are those people who used to clamp the place during day time? Ops, I suddenly remembered, they were all busy preparing themselves for 'Balik Kampung' for Aidilfitri.

After 10 minutes settling down myself at a PC near the front table, I noticed two young men walked in and passed me. They were heading nowhere. They were curiously looking for something. At first, I thought they were looking for their friends. They moved quite fast but I still did not smell anything nor sensed something odd.

I continued opening files and googling. However their suspicious act provoked me from focusing on my work. I wished I was not there, but I was fated to witness a robbery. Just in front of my table, one of the guy who appeared to lead the team, took out his parang and smashed it on the table in front of me. He was angry after not getting any sum of money he asked from the owner of the premise. I could not see the other two customers as they were hiding behind the PC. Any single movement from us will distract them. So I was given a sign to stay calm by the owner of the cybercafe. We were told to sit tight.

His collegue, seemed to be a school teenager, instructed the owner to take out all the money from the cash machine and her handbag. Once again, a smashed sound was heard behind me. For the second time, the boy was angry when the owner of the premise said that she had not any money accept her having a mobile phone. The guy seemed did not believe but grabbed the bag. He yelled at her of saying a liar she was. My blood rose rapidly and all parts of my body shivered. At this moment of time, I pretended closing my eyes and surrendered myself to Allah and the visual of my husband and children flashed. I started to forgive and forget of things that I have done to people and forget all the mistakes they did to me.

After split seconds, as I opened my eyes back, the two young guys were 'rolling' so quickly after getting the money and some valuables from the handbag. They were looking for back door, unfortunately it was locked. Oh dear, the 'drama' wasn't finished, they were still running and shouting, calling names of one and another. I was hoping, the 'scene' would have been over but they were taking times looking for exit. Both of them becoming uncontrollable and unpredictable and I prayed once again. If my life were to be exchanged to something else, I am willing. I began to feel relieved when one of the guys decided to rush out through the front door. They ran and rammed the front door. They quickly vanished and disappeared. Suddenly the owner of the premise came and hugged me. She calmed me down and held my arms. I had to cry, the feeling that I couldn't hide.

Few people from next door and few passers by noticed those two young men. But none realized they were robbers. A rakan cop(policeman) came inside and asked me a few questions. But soon, as customers walked in and start asking, I was becoming a center of attraction. I drove back, and was told to be careful by the owner of the premise.

This is what the Malays called, 'malang tidak berbau'. We would never expect or sense what will happen to our future. The destiny that you choose is what is fated to you, so you might as well always pray for the good things to happen. I am lucky, to survive and have my life back cos who knows what will happen, if those young teenagers who are desperately, STRIKE BACK.....

MY WHISPERS - 'cut, copy and paste'

It has been quite sometime I've been toying with the idea to raise this issue, the trend of some unscrupulous people fond of adopting the 'cut, copy and paste' culture of other people's belonging whether in the sense of intellectual properties basically ideas or creation. The purpose of writing is not against or promoting the culture but to highlight the impact and affects if everyone accepts it as part of the culture.

There are number of factors of why some people are eager to put emphasis on this trend. I have identified the contributing factors, namely:

- Having a negative attitude
- Habitual
- Lack of creativity
- Unable to construct and elaborate ideas
- Lack of writing skill
- Lack of self confidence
- Time constraint
- Being pressured

As an inference, people who execute this trend typically comes from the following category :

1. students
2. writers
3. researchers
4. educators
5. module developers
6. producers
7. designers
8. advertisers

The positions above mentioned are part of many known jobs and even form a 'network of integrated efforts' to the copy and paste attitude. Between the lines, we creators have unintentionally unlocked ourselves to certain risks. In most cases, this trend has been responsible to making some people changing their priorities in life full of instant desires – to be promoted, to graduate, to please the boss, to please the parents – in short – to cut corners and dangerous shortcuts. Students studying in higher institutions for instance, are the highest group of people who have acquired the copy and paste trend in their everyday lives. Fear to embark on the seemingly impossible skills which lead to desperation, they unknowingly have contributed to the unsustainable nurturing of 'thwarted innovation and creativity'. Thus, every assignments and researchers done are purely and meticulously from the 'cut, copy and paste' origins. Some students nowadays are easily being persuaded to imitate the peers work from the very top to the bottom of the line. Despite, this trend of breaching the copyrights can still be controlled, however this worrying lifestyle will increase and dominate. Soon, the thing we call facts will become irrelevant due to some students constantly tampering the original theories or hypothesis.

Like I said earlier, it is quite impossible to stop this copy and paste trend completely. Right after the information and communication technology era flushing through all the system in and out, people are rapidly shifting from the traditional formats to the new digital approach. With abundance of information readily available from the Internet, ICT has served and well-prepared for the multi-skilled learning environment and even provide people with sources of income. On the other hand, ICT has also now becoming excessively dangerous where some people are lured to commit unthinkable crimes even recreating technology to overcome solutions.

Truth has now being said, based on experience and knowledge, the trend of copying and pasting will totally drag people away from positive traits - know where to draw lines, living with goals, creativity, leading to something new and genuine, positive behavior, willing to take risks, imaginative, accepting improvement and being unique. Today, things we see in this world are merely imitations and simulations via all kinds of means. The terms that we use to claim as original and innovative are now becoming inappropriate. What we visualize, hear and respond to are truly being cultivated from the main trend which subsequently dominated our entire ways of life.

Writer: this article is my first to highlight the controversial issue which hopefully could change everyone's mindset.

FAVOURITE TALK - Political Mind- The Positive and Negative Impacts

When a mother has to lie to her son, telling him that his teacher always praise him while in reality, the son is at the bottom position in the class. The mother has to make up stories just to get her son to attend his classes. In theory, the mother understands that by executing politics , she would get positive result no matter how bad is the social impact the action has on the mind of a young boy who has not performed well in the school exams and yet being persuaded by his parents to move ahead.

Politicians (especially bad ones) are the group of people possessing the greatest political minds. To achieve their goals, they search and reach all people from the top to the grassroots of society. Their missions are 'to set a new era' to all followers. These group of people carry so many visions, philosophies, beliefs and promises just attain their wish to become a leader. However, we are seeing negative effects from these people which also leave bad impacts to the younger generation such as corruption, discrimination, accusation and can even crime. Instead of putting their respectable politicians remarks and names in their diary, some posters of their unfavourite ones are found torn or burnt by the roadside.

Without realizing, a person who speaks like a politician is a leader carrying a lot of promises. Some politicians ironically only learn politics after being nominated as one. Regardless who you are, whether you are a headmistress, teachers, magistrates, manageress, businesswoman, doctor or homemaker, the power of politics is the most essential element in managing your responsibilities. Perhaps, some people who are incapable to speak may employ an influential individual is who very eloquent and confident to speak on their behalf. These people are unfit to risk their lives, positions and dignity to take the lead and to speak. They are also afraid to manipulate other people in order to win people's heart. As a result, a person with political mind is the best person to carry mandates and responsibilities.

It is interesting to know that quite a number of non political people and parties are utilizing the political influence to earn people's attention. These groups of people seemed to be well aware of all issues. Doctors may find ways to approach and console his patients. Sometimes, a mother would apply methods to tackle all her children and ensure that no one is left behind. Furthermore, teachers, trainers and those who hold top management and executive positions, are people who often apply politics in work in order to gain attention plus 'votes' from their subordinates. Members of the committee in any organizations use all kinds of techniques to appeal for financial help from the authorities. As long as the interaction and involvement occur between the top decision maker(s) and their subordinates, political approach will always appear along the way.

Today, everyone even laborers are eligible to use politics. This fundamental principle has become the most powerful approach in all walks all life. By sending codes or signals or any other means to other people, politics also inspire people to become rich or poor. While I'm writing this article this very minute, I am apprehended to think whether do we dare to apply politics in marital relationship too? I believe that none of us would deny the fact that politics would help to maintain and sustain the love and intimacy of couples.

ASSOCIATES-Between Two Continents - Intercultural Exchange

At approximately 11.45pm, 15th of January 2009 about 40 students from all over the Malaysian states gathered at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, to perform their duties as a Malaysia young ambassadors. These excellent students are selected from thousands of students from all over the country after being shortlisted as the best candidates with splendid academical and co-curriculum achievements. They are chosen to represent Malaysia in the Intercultural Students Exchange to the United States this year.

They left Kuala Lumpur to reach Washington after spending a long 24 hours journey in flight. As soon as they reached their destination, these students were brought to stay with their foster familes from all over the United States who will be assigned to take care of these students in the course of their duties. My eldest son, Nik Muhamad Harith b. Nik Zafri is one the students who is selected. He is now staying in Youngstown, Ohio living with his foster father, Dr. Bradley Smith.

These youngsters should be proud of themselves. At a young age of 17 years old, they are undergoing and experiencing the most unforgettable moments a person would ever want to have. Although, it is an interesting experience to some parents and their children, the challenges and survival phases these students are going through will always be in their mind for instance, they have to live in the the weather of heavy snow storm and its cold wind until March compared to the Malaysia food and the hot sun they are used to.

This program is expected to enhance certain objectives. By involving these teenagers, we hope the bilateral relationship between the two countries will be strenghtened further since only a few are selected and at the end the best speakers will be chosen to speak about our country, Malaysia. Though, they are young, but they carry the strongest will and spirit, greater than every elder generation. They learn a lot of things about the United States. As a routine, they share a lot of stories, secrets and learn to devote their love and respect their foster families. Without realizing, the unity and understanding between two cultures are binded, nurtured and bloomed.

MY WHISPERS - When women 'rule'

MY WHISPERS
When women 'rule'
January, 2009 Edition

……soon his people turn to other parties and he becomes an enemy to his once bestfriends in and out of the region, he will be dismissed and finally no one is behind him. In the theory, it was discovered that some leaders easily ‘drop dead’ apparently caused by their own wife’s influence. Some women in the leading sectors ‘act as a front team’. They are found to be ‘governing’ the activities more than their spouses. They sometimes become the leaders in most charity works. This is a true case; ironically; in most governments of the world have experienced. In the the end, the husband who was once a public figure and leader was left alone and shunned by people’s rumours.

It is believed that most upper positions are dominated by women whether in the government or private sectors. On the positive part of researches being conducted, women are found more hardworking and dedicated. But what is the outcome when there is depression or heavy load of work or sometimes pressured by the board of directors? And furthermore, monthly menstrual, family commitment, abstention period after giving birth have always been like turbulences to women.

It has been proven that women reaching 40s would likely decide to settle down and change their lifestyles even if they are still in employment. Not many would continue either adding more income or furthering studies. To some of these women, they have to submit themselves to many commitments and in the end they will loose some of them…for example:
  • left by spouse,
  • children running away from homes, or decreasing in their school performance,
  • poor work productivity
  • loosing friends
  • putting blame on maids
  • tend to have pleasure with other single or married men
  • disease-prone
In the modern world or in other words, ‘New World Order’ so-called like today, women are forced to find freedom and justice out from their homes. Although not many, who choose to partially believe to these principles, I believed, women sometime dare to take challenges and live in risks. For instance, 70% of women who work own a car. To women, driving a vehicle may not require skills and confidence, but the driver must able to be ready to ‘sacrifice’ for any unforeseen circumstances. At this stage, women seem to rule on the road. As soon as they walk out of the house and get into the car, they become rulers….and as part of the daily routine, they take risks of blending in the traffic for a period of time or more than an hour just to get to their workplace and return home.

But what about women in their early 50s who have retired. They decide to start a business. With the money the earn from their savings or pension, they plan. Most of them learn to live on their own. Some are single women by means of divorce, living separately or death of spouse. They do all kinds of jobs. They become hawkers, hairstylists, masseurs , shopkeepers, and finally controlled the cottage to SMI activities. Soon, whithout realizing, 55% of the source of economical growth here in Msia is dominated by women.

In the education sector, we can see wide domination of women for instance holding the positions of teachers, trainers, clerical jobs, officers, directors and even canteen owners. Women seem to take charge of the cleanliness of the school and some becoming school bus drivers. They are not really bothered about their income so long they have work to do as their routine activities. Most female academicians or educators are the country succesful policies makers but yet many failed to attain the highest satisfaction when it comes to emotion and flexibility in certain aspects.

Meanwhile, entertainment line has shown a tremendous impact on women. The factors why we hear stories about most women artistes failed to sustain their marriages is because the burden and the responsibilities they have to bear. The choice of becoming a celebrity as well as a mother at the same time seems to be the right choice being made. It is becoming a challenge and internal conflict to most of them reaching this age. At this stage, they will dominate the entire line of the industry. They turn themselves into directors or producers in all kinds of entertainment works.

In the primary, secondary or tertiary schools, girls are showing great achievements and scores during the examinations. Although, they are not showing the same progress in sports and co-curriculum activities, yet they are able to compete with the boys in academics. In addition, they possess an invulnerable strength that the boys fail to identify or recognize. Eventually, these girls ends up holding top positions either in the private or government sectors, GLCs, leading and supervising the others.

To this moment, I am still proud as being what I am. To live with a peace of mind and freedom, I can also set a new mind of putting myself and my family’s pride and honour at the highest level. Despite of the many challenges and differences of diverse principles and faiths among my siblings, relatives, neighbourhood, friends, society and even business entities too, so far I have adapted to such a complex environment and I am thankful as I have succeeded in most various efforts that I have made.

Consequently, I do not reject nor oppose the rights of women today, other than that I do wish that despite holding comfortable positions in any fields, women should mantain and support the good virtues of their innerselves. Even if they fail, they should know to whom they should refer and cling to….

FAVOURITE TALK - Being 2nd Partner

FAVOURITE TALK
Being second partner

She is growing up, becoming matured and easily understands the surroundings due to her susceptibility, she runs her house chores out of her love, taking care and plans the daily routines. She is also learned in religion, and discover great many things, but no doubt as a woman, she was also the ‘jealous-type’. She appeals her beloved husband to cast away the 'the negativities’ of her and asked for his prayers and blessings. Indeed, she is married to a married man. She is being chosen to marry a man who is far older than her. Her father knew that she is in good hands, well-taken care of – for this man is wise and sacred.

Their marriage became a wonderful moment. She was 13 when her husband proposed her. She becomes a young woman simultaneously still playing with dolls. She is seen playing in her room whenever her husband returns home. She knows that her father has made the right choice to marry this man and to live with him. She turns into a young lady who devote herself to this man. With smartness, loyalty, sacrifice and intelligence, she manages to be loved by her husband.

When they are separated by destiny, she is the one who is deeply upset being left forever. She understands that she has spent so many years from her childhood until becoming a woman. She feels lonely. She has to accept her fate. However, after missing her beloved husband, she has to move on. She took the front line to fight against her misunderstood ‘enemies’. Unfortunately, she ‘lost’. She passed away after getting ill. She is and still being honoured by her people.

Unlike the modern women today, being a second or third partner seems to be taboo. To some faiths and believers, it is so much prohibited. To others, who might not be able to see beyond common-sense, the impacts are truly ‘illegal and forbidden’. Who we are to judge God’s destiny? We are just humble creations and we rely on human weakness for any justifications. How can any decision being made is good for everyone if we couldn’t decide the best for ourselves. Although, the best for a man is to support only one woman in his life, but never deny what God has set up for us as human and as a man or woman, we shouldn’t be too arrogant.

Simplicity in work Presentation

You always want to be praised in many ways. Women are seen to be the highlight in any organization or workplace. Appearing on the hall to set up the LCD projector and sorting out the handouts or brochures, are two from numerous jobs that a presenter should know or do before starting any presentations.

Participants are your fans and followers. Never deny their rights. Provide them with space and comfort. They should be pampered; in other words; give them the necessary tools to approach you during the speech. Once you start your presentation, give an eye to eye contact with them. Please and praise them most of the time.

Allow yourself to be part of the Q and A session. Do not answer in negative statements. Everyone including the organizer or even the F & B volunteers should be involved. Be aware of the questions that might touch on your personal issues. Although the questions make you more matured, sometime they can do harm to your business. The best is to predict and prepare the answers by means of FAQ.

Do some research and analysis before you accept any offer from clients. This is to avoid misleading and misunderstood opinions, hypotheses and facts between you and your clients.

The Real Smartness

When crowd is cheering for her triumph for obtaining the most flying 'As' in the second level examination, some people are starting to cherish her in the different manners.

On the other hand, many fail to realize how this scenario has left behind a negative impact to those students who are still far behind. The first typical questions parents would likely to ask me in my capacity as a teaching trainer/coach to their children are:

“How can Astro help my son/daughter?
What sort of information from the channel can help our children?”
“What kind of books that smart girl are using?”
“Is inter net the best way to provide information?”

The above questions are part of the numerous of enquiries posed to me by most parents. And becoming smart children in the school like Adi Putra, Amalin, Sufiah and few unhighlighted names is what many parents wish for..

Not many kids have the ability to score high marks in examinations. There are a few interpretations of genius, smartness, cleverness and intelligence of a human being. To a certain degree, an examination is one of the way to identify:

· Weakness
· Problems
· Inaccuracy
and find ways to improve them.

The names above mentioned merely demonstrate the highest abilities in calculating and memorizing - if not speculation. These aspects are only fractions of many abilities that an authentic smart and genius child should possess. In other words, they only possess 2 dimensional thinking. Whereby a true prodigy should own more than the common use of the 5 senses including numerous of responses. It is evident to us - thanks to the the press that these children can provide solutions to certain problems like Mathematics. The other with flying colours in the school examination, I believe, is still in the domain of memorization.

Giving credits by organizing Prize Giving Awards which has been applied for decades is something that most parents are hunting for. Additionally, organizing of such events are also cost and time demanding.

The events are supposedly aimed to highlight the significance or the spirit of achievers that they will remain on the right tracks in identifying weakness and take preventive actions. Ironically, a new trend has aroused, where the best ones based to achieve most flying colours are given awards, whereas the potential and weakest ones are unseen and ignored. It is not surprising to see that the potentials and the weaks and their parents are not even being invited to Prize Giving Events. How can one claims to not discriminate when it happens right under our noses?

Furthermore, there are a lot of things should be taken into account. There shouldn't’t be a trend of forbidding school candidates taking up extra subjects in the examination just to impress the media. Without realizing it, this has now become a highlight, thus drawing the attention of many parties. As a result, many people will start to claim that those ‘genius’ or ‘smart kid’ as benchmarks of success. We wouldn’t want our kids to be a human robot or I-Robot - the kind of creature built up to act in accordance to the master needs. They have no tears, no emotion, no senses, passion and feeling towards the other. They receive instructions with no room for objections to be heard. Do your children resembles this characters?

Sadly to say, we are already witnessing our children who arrive and depart from home to attend extra classes, religious classes, school activities and the remaining hours they spend is to complete their homework and assignments. The only time they could use to rest is their bedtime. Even during daytime, children need to sleep continuously for 3 hours. It is needed for growing child to produce their energy, develop their muscles, bones, flesh and blood and boost their moods. This is also the reason why some children are not motivated and productive in school performance.

“I missed my breakfast, lunch and dinner”.
“I didn't have enough sleep during the day and night.”
“I don’t have enough money to buy my breakfast and books.”
“ I have to beg some money from my classmate”.

(actual children’s quote)

Modern-aged children have missed their quality time with their family. To achieve the genius status in school, some children with problems related to mental and physical health are expected to take 'other geniuses' as their 'idols' while the parents are being ignorance on major causes of their own weaknesses. Having children with the most 'As' are every parents dreams. (proven)

To be better is an easy job to grab but to be the best requires many hands - parents, teachers, relatives, school and students must take part in the analogical relay. The parents are the first carrier of the batons who then pass to their children to reach the finishing line. The baton must not be dropped. If it is dropped, everyone will be disqualified. The person who runs first would be the one having majority strength and power. They are the parents who should be able to guide the second runner. They must take the lead. Teachers, family and friends are the one who holds the second and third baton must come forward to support the children. In the end, the better their techniques adopted will determine victory.

It is about time, a new mindset is set up. There are many examples of children with disabilities and disorders in school have eventually turned to become successful people in life. It is undeniable that the school is the first trial to examine students abilities - however - it is not a real benchmark to be set. A far journey still awaiting is what our children should be concerned of. As parents, we would not know what will happen to them, to us and to the country we are living in. They should be taught how to face the real challenges in life for the next century to come. As they realized this, then smartness they will achieve.

The Unsung Heroes

Everyone seems to know Aishah Gani, Rafidah Aziz, Tun Fatimah and few more names who left behind - dignity in politics. But most people might not know these two women who I really idolize very much. They are my source of inspiration till I become what I am now. Their services to the country and most women at their time are appreciated and goes unforgotten. They both resemble true women leaders of the 60s and the 80s

Puan Normah bt Liman
A family photo of my mother during the
Hari Raya Aidilfitri

My mother was the-then Timbalan Ketua Wanita Umno for Pari Garden, Ipoh. A soft spoken and motherly type woman she is, Puan Normah is well –known to everyone in Pari Garden. She speaks only when necessary and gives sharp opinion to all generation of women seeking her advice. Puan Normah is a good listener and very attentive in making decision.

She was the only Malay student who was chosen to pursue her studies in an English School in Ipoh. She performed very excellently in her studies despite of living in poverty.

She carries an identity of a down hearted lady leader during her years in UMNO.

Way back in the 70s, she was the front team leader in her own transport company which was very well known during those years. Together with my father, they expanded their wings and ventured further into the tourism industry. Since then, this down hearted and soft spoken lady became an iron lady without people realizing it. With assets and profit worth thousands of ringgit per fiscal year, and earning a five-figure income per month, she has proven herself that being a mother and with a little background in tertiary education, she has successfully amazed us and everyone knowing her.

Having 6 children and currently owning a Diploma In Beauty, she has run a beauty and spa centre in Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam. She was fondly known as UMI to many of her friends and clients. She carried an unimaginable pain, sweat and tears to grow up her children.

Currently, she spends most of the time at home and staying close with her youngest child. She still shares some of her secrect recipes on inner and outer beauty of a woman. She wishes to become a role model to her children, sisters and friends.

difficulties in deficate

When people start to realize that healthy life has become vital needs upon reaching the age of 30s for a woman and 40s for a man, I predict that it is wisely to discuss this issue. Defication
is a way to excrete feces. This process can result positively and negatively affects. Sometimes, excretion process will cause our anus become burn and irritate. There are many reasons that lead to this symptoms. Below are groups of people often identified as a victim:

· heavy physical exertion
· stress people
· expectant mothers
· elderly
· smokers
· illness and unhealthy people
· eating habits people

Lack of vitamins usually act on several biological and mutually effects. For instance, chickens, become infected with the parasite by spores, which are excreted in their feces. This parasite will cause diarrhea. As a human, we will suffer intestinal bleeding and death to some people. Unfortunately, this is caused by lacking of knowledge and pre awareness among us of know how important it is to consume necessary and suitable vitamins to every sickness. Thus, a mineral salt like Lasalocid sodium can be taken to destroy this parasite. It will kill them in the digestive contents before the parasites reach the intestine.

A mother should be the best person to discover the illness of her children before they can reach the specialist. This is what I urge in all of my classess and workshops. Study and do research before you pass your hand to the specialist. It is also your responsibility to treat your children other than the doctors, nurses or anyone. People at all ages will suffer problems in defication if they do not aware the food they eat will cause the reproduction of bacteria in their blood circulation.
We should too take into account our metabolisms of different living beings that functions in different ways. These differences will require specific amounts and needs of vitamins in our meals. As a result, allergic reaction could be the cause why some people are having risk in deficate. So, be careful when supplying your children with too much vitamins.

Secret ingredients

There are some food which enable boosting of our healthy sexual behaviour. Let me share with you a few secret menus or ingredients on how to develop your sexual behaviour. Whilst some may find this subject is a taboo especially Malaysians, in reality, not many women realise the significance for married women especially those in the mid 30s age range to measure their abilities of sexual responses toward their husbands. As I am reaching my 40s, I sense that it is the right time for me to highlight such secrets. Below are some factors identified to be the causes of sexual disorders among some women:

1. mental/physical stress
2. internal or external problems
3. lack of hormones
4. certain mental diseases
5. menstrual symptoms

Besides taking various medications which can be found easily in the market which seem a practical solution by some of us due to their positive responses especially by women suffering these symptoms. Alternatively, we could also consume suitable food which also function as natural aphrodisiacs. This kind of food is able to generate the production of the reproduction tissues in our body. The consumption may not be as much as a plate of rice or a big bowl. Perhaps a quarter of a glass in the form of liquid or half a plate if it comes in solid. However, overdosage will cause fatigue and overweight.

Women should accept and seriously start to take all efforts to prevent these syndrommes. Too many women keep these problems to themselves until their husbands started to ‘explore’ platonic relationships outside.

Some believe that the right food will produce a good heavenly aura on your biochemistry hence increases your mood of making love. Well, the choice is yours!

In next edition, I will highlight the food which can be recommended to take in order to boost your sexual behaviour.

MY WHISPERS | My First Experience

FIRST EXPERIENCE

The weather was cold and breezing. The mist and the cars spotlights obscured our views from seeing everything outside. My father drove his car in the capacity matching the surroundings. We wouldn’t want to strand ourselves in Gerik where no one even a stranger can be found. We were glad that we had arrived here in the early morning. My father had precisely made his estimation. As an ex-army, he would always make the right decisions. Though, he often argues, being strict and suspicious, however I have a high respect for his reputation and charisma.

Everyone cheered when we finally reached Kota Bharu. My father booked a room at a 2 star hotel. Unfortunately, I couldn’t recalled the name of the hotel. Nothing much to view but after a long journey, it was just the right place to stretch our legs and refreshed our bodies. The next thing was the most enjoyable part whereby my mom and my 4 beloved younger brothers and sisters went out to enjoy and exploring the town. I hardly remember the locations. If I could make a guess, they were Pasar Siti Khadijah, Pasar Buluh Kubu and Pantai Cahaya Bulan (as they are known today), the three famous destinations we had spotted.

Frankly speaking, it was truly a historical day of my life, stepping my feet in Kelantan. I had never thought and dreamt to be here. Though, I had been to Bangkok and Haadyai (I deemed those as lands of culture and mystical) with my parents when I was 13 years old for holidays, it was still not the same feeling to be shared with everyone as I’ve experienced in Kelantan. The people, the flora and fauna, the air, the small huts and houses, the schools, the food, the medium cost of living environment, the girls and boys here were least similar to those found in my hometown. There was something about Kelantan that share the same traits as Bangkok and Haadyai.

My father seemed to be so proud trying few Kelantenese dialects with some local people. My mom and I smiled when those people indicated signs of they couldn’t understand my father’s awkward dialects. Like every women, my mom bought a few large bundles of kain batik and some silverwares like the ‘bekas par’, ‘tepak sirih’ and ‘bekas lilin’.

Funny, the purchases were usually made specially for wedding ceremonies. I questioned myself, ‘who is getting married?’ ‘Kakaklah!’ my father spontaneously joked at me. The answer was as sharp as the arrow straight pointed from the bow aiming at my heart. Today, I believed because of those ‘blessed’ words of his, has touched my instincts to choose a man to share the happiness and sadness together, with principles and visions in his life. It all started from this town.

THOUGHTS OF THE DAY | We Both Proved

WE BOTH PROVED

14 years ago, a premature baby boy was born in University of Science Malaysia Hospital, Kubang Kerian Kelantan. A specialist was summoned to accept the baby due to complication delivery. He was finally diagnosed to have premature lungs and suffering of ‘yellow fever’. Fortunately, the baby was saved and subsequently transmitted to the ICU for 3 weeks. Once more, the group of surgeons and health practitioners have proven their expertise and professionalism worked.

5 years later, the boy indicated a lot of good signs. Unlike the history he has gone through during the delivery, he has proven to us that he is a healthy boy. We provided him with Soya milk as he has resisted breast feeding. He has taken a lot of vitamins. He ate a lot. At the same time, I seek for medical advice from the pediatricians. They claimed there is nothing to worry of. His lungs have matured. What is certain, he was found to be able to perform academically-well. I trained him myself.

He was able to read at the age of 3 years old. At 4 he has already mastered few computers games like Prince of Persia, Star Wars including various software application in the early 90s where most people were not fully aware of computer softwares, games and and their applications. At 6, he managed to complete his Quran or Khatam. He was very inquisive and talkative for the first 5 years of his age. All my friends adored him. They recognized his intelligence. He is very dedicated and committed to his work. Nevertheless, he sometimes found himself lonely. Having another child yet never crossed my mind until he was nearly 5 years of old.

2 years later, he went to school in Kluang, Johor. For 3 consecutive years at school, he took the first places in his classes. His teachers have realized his capabilities. Needless to say, for 3 years he has represented his school in all kinds of competitions at district level involving those of brain challenging skills.

He completed another 3 primary school years back in Gombak, Selangor. Despite shifting from one school to another, he was able to cope up with the new system and syllabus. Again, he has impressed his new teachers and friends once he took first in the list of the school top ten best students when he was 10 and 11 years old. He completed his primary school years by obtaining 5 As in UPSR examination.

He was offered to pursue his studies at few boarding schools. Like any other parents, both my husband and I have always been wishing that the boarding school environment is a safe place for him to study. He proved to us that he is good in academic. He obtained 7A1 in the PMR examination. Nevertheless, thinking that he has the history of lung premature, we kept our dreams for a moment of time. Again, undoubtedly, he has scored 9A1 1A2 in the school SPM trial examination last year.

This year he is 17 years old. The premature baby has grown taller to 6 feet tall. His looks resemble of his father. However, he has drawn some concern and enthusiasm from his teachers despite his lean body features. I am relieved after a female pediatrician confirmed that parental genetic has partially contributed to the children physical and emotional development.

Basically, my husband and I have learned a lot of things. We experienced things that are beyond our capabilities in raising a child like him. We discovered that science and mystic must be brought together. Parallel dimension thinking has influenced my belief. The 5 senses that we have learned in school are merely foundations of what is happening in our lives. Apparently, there are more senses need to be analyzed and upgraded as well. A 3-D thinking can be developed while using computer including games.

At 12 years old he was able to do complex programming for interactive multimedia that involved html, flash and Java and the result was he managed to develop his first very own website (at the age of 12) which matches the skills of a graduate in IT. When he was 9 years old, he has assisted me in making beautiful interactive multimedia presentations for my teaching classes. At 15 he has developed competencies involving complex desktop publishing and to quote one - by designing the cover of his school magazine. Later at the age of 16 he designed a banner (printed with a plotter) for his sport house. What I’ve narrated here are only a quarter of his real skills.

There are some parties who have recognized him and have generously offered their assistance after seeing the ‘prodigy’ at few international conferences. What we need is a place what we call a genuine smart and healthy school that can offer special children like him to learn further. Regretfully, despite being one of the smartest and highly potential student, he is not being given equal treatment by the teachers when it comes to health.

I would dare say that, our country has not fully reached the real expectations, although some signs have been shown in living examples like Sufiah, Amalina and Adi Putra. In my knowledge, real-life experience and expertise, the names aforesaid are from different categories of intelligence. They have not reached the real definition of smartness or better – a prodigy - having capable to master only one or two criterions which mainly focus on numbers and figures or having inclination towards mere memorization and not understanding the applications of such skills.

This prodigy child's blog I am proudly to proclaim can be visited at www.myspace.com/nickris_user1468

BEAUTY TALK | For Fairer and Smoother Skin

For Fairer and Smoother Skin

There are many secret recipes which every women keep to stay healthy and beautiful. For more that 2 decades, I have been extremely believe in traditional medication and treatment in keeping my skin smooth and clean. Internal cares should become parallel with the external steps in order to maintain your smoother skin until you reach 40s.

Try to take half plate of glutinous rice that mixed with some coconut milk and little salt as a breakfast. For better delicacy, eat it with ulam-ulam like the serai leaves, bunga kantan or daun cekur. Avoid taking the rice with coconut shred or ikan asin.

This rice contains full of energy, therefore you can skip your lunch. Next, prepare your dinner. Clear your stomach with a few glasses of tamarind juice before preparing the food for dinner. Any lime juice could also do. Unlike other juices, tamarind is not producing any allergy or affects to the stomach. It is a fibre that will help you to avoid constipation.

A meal that only contains fibre and protein really helps to clean the blood. I have a history of a diabetes and low blood in my family. Taking a lot of sugar will result having a lot of pimples and skin irritation. A bowl of fish or egg soup and a half plate of kampung rice plus some sambal cili without belacan or udang kering and some daun mengkudu or okra will help to boost your skin reproduction.

As a conclusion, the simplicity of the ingredients and the mixture usually will cause someone to keep herself healthy and fit. Every women should not only knows how to apply but should also have the knowledge of every special properties of all living things in this world.

FOOD FOR LOVE | KL Feat Kelantan

KL feat Kelantan

We usually argue about what should we have for our meals. It took us about 2 years to except our differences even in choosing our own favourite food. Despite having our mothers to explain, instead I took some time to learn from friends and relatives about what food he likes.

Finally, we considered. I learned about the food that his mother used to cook and he learnt mine too.

MY WHISPERS

“how I got captivated with Kelantan”

Kelantan, a place rich with history. It also has cultural links with Patani in Southern Thailand. I felt that it would be a waste to deny the existence of diverse traditional customs - the kite or the wau, language, race and ethnic community or popularly known as Kelantanese, silver and silk weaving, songket, the martial arts of self-defense, ulamas, huge lands surrounded by dusuns and crops, village houses, sacred history, men wearing kupiah, theatrical performances from Thailand or the Menora, the puppet shadow play or wayang kulit and the wakafs which can be seen on most roadsides - (kind of R & R) for us to rest a while after a long journey.

The history of ancient Kelantan monarchy is unique as it goes back to the times of women's ruling by the names of Che Sitti Wan Kembang and Puteri Saadong - fascinates me! They potray Kelantan as symbols of serenity and beauty of women. Kelantan is also known as one of the principal centres of Malay publication in Peninsula. The people is known to be religious and also strong supporters to the local politics.

Todate, this rich culture is still being adopted and well-maintained. Ironically, Kelantan seems to have almost been neglected. As an 'outsider', I strongly feel that - in our hands lie the sentimental responsibilities to sustain the nature of its history and traditional cultures. The subjects must always be discussed and actioned. Only the people of Kelantan themselves, some are well-known to us have done a lot of effort to rediscover the original features and their directions and contribute back to their state. It does not offer us merely its wayang kulit or makyong, in fact, it covers the whole history and sociology.

In next edition, I will be sharing with you my first experience here.
